Malcolm Clendenning, President of NAC retiring after 5 years at helm, April 2007

The competition for a President to replace Mac Clendenning closed in March and the Selection Committee will be completing the search process over the next two months until a replacement is found. After a long career in post secondary administration, Mac will be returning to his home in New Brunswick this summer. Mac has completed his contract as President of NAC and leaves the college in a sound financial position.

During his term as President, Mac has eliminated a past deficit of the college while introducing more programs and services for adult learners. The regional campuses are now in a stronger position to offer programming that is in line with government priorities and meets the needs of students to qualify for employment in government, business and industry across Nunavut. Over the next two years the college is positioned to initiate a number of new capital projects, expand the teacher education program and implement trades training due to the efforts of the President and his management team.
